Building Futures Together: How Our Partnership with LandAid Helped Jodie Take the Next Step

At EPIC, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a future they're proud of. For many of the young people we support, the biggest barriers aren't a lack of ambition or ideas but a lack of opportunity, confidence and the right support at the right time.
That's why our partnership with LandAid is so important. LandAid is committed to ending youth homelessness by creating opportunities for young people to build safe, independent futures. Together, we've been able to support care-experienced young people and those facing significant challenges to develop the confidence, skills and entrepreneurial mindset needed to take control of their futures.

Meet Jodie
Jodie joined EPIC with a passion for photography and storytelling, alongside the determination to create a career on her own terms.
Like many of the young people we work with, she had already overcome significant personal challenges. Rather than allowing those experiences to define her, she chose to channel them into building something positive. Through the EPIC programme, Jodie accessed practical business education, one-to-one mentoring, guidance and encouragement to help develop both her business and her confidence.
More Than Starting a Business
Entrepreneurship is often viewed as just launching a company, but for us at EPIC, we see entrepreneurship as a vehicle for developing confidence, resilience, communication skills, problem-solving and independence.
These are skills that benefit young people throughout their lives, regardless of where their careers ultimately take them. For care-experienced young people or those who have experienced adversity, building a business can also mean building stability, purpose and a renewed belief in what's possible.
Why Partnerships Matter
The support of organisations like LandAid enables us to provide far more than funding alone. While financial support can remove an immediate barrier, long-term success comes from combining that investment with education, mentoring and ongoing encouragement.
Together, EPIC and LandAid are helping young people not only imagine a different future, but develop the knowledge, confidence and networks to achieve it.
It's this combination of practical support and genuine belief in young people's potential that creates lasting change.
