September 1989. York. Waving degree certificate & renting tiny office, bought first computer (mono screen, irrelevant memory, no Windows), an ill-fitting £36 carpet & all-important coffee machine. Sailed recession storms & built up a company (Qa Research) & started other ventures. Discovered entrepreneurship joys & learnt helping others in design, print and marketing industries, to fulfil their talent, mattered. Fast-forward. Although I have roles in the other companies, most of my time now focuses on developing and supplying learning solutions to education and corporate clients. First launched in 2006, SimVenture Classic is the multi-award winning business simulator allowing people to create & run a virtual company and learn about business and entrepreneurship in an authentic & engaging way. Used in 40+ countries, Classic was crowned 'Most Enterprising Learning Product' by the IOEE in 2015. Time permitting (& the podcast, blog and book chapters are up-to-date), I dabble in the dark arts of student finance, long-distance taxi driving and with little effort, being 'embarrassing-dad'.
